Sergey Kofanov

Sergey Anatoljevich Kofanov ((ロシア語:Серге́й Анато́льевич Кофа́нов); born May 6, 1978) Russian mountaineer.
15 years experience in mountaineering area since 1994. Works as a professional mountain guide in all continents since 2005. For this period of time has organized (or was the leader) more than 30 expeditions (including international).
==Summary==
In 2008 was awarded the main world awards in mountaineering - the American award Golden Piton and European Grolla d`Or for the best ascent of 2007 (peak Jannu, 7710 m., Nepal). His articles and photos about this achievement were printed in all main climbing world editions.

The youngest Russian Everest summiter (he was 28 years old)

He became the seventh and the youngest Russian who finished the project «7 Summits» (ascents to the highest peaks of all continents).

The Champion of Russia in alpinism.

Winner of Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes in National Mountaineering Championship.

The Master of Sports of Russia.

In May, 2006 took part in rescue operation of Lincoln Hall (Australia) who was left for death on altitude 8700 m – the participant of his book “Dead Lucky” which has become the bestseller.

In May, 2007 on the Everest saved the life of the lost and dying Italian climber Marco Epis – lowered him from altitude 8300 meters – the first case in the history of rescue operations on the Everest when rescue was organized by one person from such altitude. The participant of the TV programs devoted this operation: such channels as Italian RAI-TV, English Discovery Channel, etc. Was awarded medal "The Honour" for this heroic achievement by the «Russian Award Committee» in January 2009.
